Weekly 30 minute Zoom evidence informed guided mindfulness for 10 weeks hosted by Brad Sprigg. Here are the top five benefits of practicing evidence-informed mindfulness, along with references to support each benefit: 1: Reduced stress and anxiety: Mindfulness has been shown to be an effective technique for reducing stress and anxiety. A meta-analysis of 209 studies found that mindfulness-based interventions were effective in reducing symptoms of anxiety and depression (Goldberg et al., 2018). A randomized controlled trial of mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) found that it was effective in reducing symptoms of anxiety and stress in a clinical population (Hoge et al., 2013). 2: Improved emotional regulation: Mindfulness can also help individuals regulate their emotions. A randomized controlled trial found that a mindfulness-based intervention was effective in reducing negative affect and increasing positive affect in a clinical population (Hofmann et al., 2010). Another study found that mindfulness training improved emotion regulation skills and decreased emotional reactivity in a non-clinical population (Garland et al., 2015). 3: Improved cognitive function: Mindfulness has been shown to improve cognitive function, particularly attention and working memory. A meta-analysis of 49 studies found that mindfulness-based interventions improved attention and working memory (Chiesa et al., 2011). A randomized controlled trial found that MBSR improved working memory performance in a non-clinical population (Jha et al., 2010). 4: Improved physical health: Mindfulness has been shown to have benefits for physical health as well. A randomized controlled trial found that a mindfulness-based intervention improved immune function in a clinical population (Davidson et al., 2003). Another study found that mindfulness training reduced symptoms of chronic pain in a clinical population (Cherkin et al., 2016). 5: Improved interpersonal relationships: Mindfulness can also improve interpersonal relationships by increasing empathy and reducing interpersonal conflict. A randomized controlled trial found that a mindfulness-based intervention improved empathy in a non-clinical population (Klimecki et al., 2013). Another study found that mindfulness training reduced interpersonal conflict and increased relationship satisfaction in a non-clinical population (Wachs & Cordova, 2007).
SESSIONS, FEES, BOOKING, CANCELLATIONS & PAYMENTS. Counselling sessions are usually 60 minutes in duration, are priced from $125.00 per session and are only available by appointment. Sessions can be booked and paid in advance via the website menu book online function. Changes and rescheduling of appointments can be managed via text to 0431 212 099 up to one business day prior to the scheduled appointment time without penalty; After which full charges apply. A full fee applies in the event of a “no-show”. Unpaid invoices will be sent to and external provider for collection. Any cost associated with collection of unpaid invoices will be passed on to the client. Please allow enough time to arrive for your appointment, sessions commence promptly at the allocated time and end 60 minutes after. Sessions will not be extended to due to late arrival.
