What if there was a method, a series of steps that you could incorporate and practice easily as part of your day to day to help point your life the direction that you truly wanted it to go. Would you be willing to give it a try?


Most people at this point in the reading would be listening to their thinking mind going sure sure another process telling me how bad my life is and how much I suck at getting rid of what's holding me back.


So how do you get something different in your life, what can you do to change and how can you ensure the change is right for you and will stick?

At Bright Vista we can introduce you to skills, tips, tools and strategies from Compassion-focused acceptance and commitment therapy (CACT) to improve outcomes for yourself and the life you want. Some of these steps may include:

  1. Practicing mindfulness: Mindfulness can help clients to be more aware of their thoughts, feelings, and bodily sensations, and to respond to them in a non-judgmental and accepting way.

  2. Engaging in self-compassion exercises: Clients can practice self-compassion exercises, such as writing self-compassionate letters or using visualisation techniques, to help them develop a more compassionate relationship with themselves.

  3. Setting values-based goals: Clients can work with their counsellor to set goals that align with their values, and to develop an action plan to achieve them.

  4. Engaging in compassionate behaviours: Clients can practice compassionate behaviours, such as small acts of kindness and generosity, to help them develop compassion for themselves and others.

  5. Practicing noticing, choosing and taking action: Clients can gradually increase their ability to notice their behaviour, choose a behaviour more appropriate to the direction they want for their life and take small step toward that direction.

  6. Reflecting on progress by accessing workability: Clients can regularly reflect on their progress, and make adjustments to their goals, action plan, and self-compassion practices as needed.

  7. Continuing to practice between sessions: It is important for clients to continue to practice these techniques as a home practice, as practice is one of the keys to implementing change.

It is worth noting that the counsellor will guide the client through the process and will adapt the counselling therapy to the specific needs of each client at a pace that is appropriate for each client.
